Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actress and singer. Her parents are Tom Bell and Lorelei Frygier and both are television news directors. Her family was from Huntington Woods Michigan. Her ancestry is Polish (mother) and German, English, Irish and Scottish (father). Kristen realized her potential within the industry of entertainment when she was just a teenager. In 1992 she won her first role at the auditions for Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell was appointed by her mom to become an agent when she was only 13 years old. She was then chosen for the newspaper advertisements and commercials on TV. In the same year she began taking classes in acting. Bell made an appearance in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998, as an uncredited actress. Bell was a part of the drama and musical club in Shrine Catholic High School. In her school's show of The Wizard of Oz, Bell was cast as Dorothy. Bell was accepted to New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theater after graduating. Bell completed her studies in 2001, resigned her college studies in order to take on her role as Becky on Tom Sawyer. Bell made her debut film credits in Pootie Tang during 2001. The scene however cut, and her appearance only appears in the end credits. Bell made an appearance on Broadway on Broadway in The Crucible, a revival which featured Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
